I think everyone remembers their most perfect ride.

I remember mine. It was back in the 2000’s,

although I don’t remember the year,

I remember the day, October 12. The place, Izu. 

 

The wind was blowing hard “on shore”, and the

waves werebig and choppy.

Nobody was out.

Then suddenly like magic, the winds turned

“off shore” and it was perfect head high to

head high half, and super easy to get out. 

 

One of the waves I caught was a set wave.

It broke way outside, and I managed to catch it.

It was about a 30 second ride,

all the way to the inside.

 

That was my perfect ride. 

 

I want to congratulate rising magazine on your debut,

and I wish you many perfect rides

as you spread the excitement of wave riding.

This EP was released in 2012, but is still one of my

favorites for after surf.

Very cool, almost a 70’s surf nostalgic sound.

My favorite cut is “After Dark”.

今まで経験した最も素晴らしいライドの事は、

誰もが覚えているでしょう。 

僕も自分の経験を思い出すよ。場所は伊豆。

はっきり何年だったかは覚えていないけど、

２０００年代の１０月１２日の事でした。 

 

オンショアの強風が吹き、断続的に

ビッグウェーブが押し寄せていた。

人っ子一人、海に出ていなかった。

しかし、突然魔法のように風向きがオフショアに

変わったんだ。

完璧なヘッドハイ〜ヘッドハイハーフの状態で、

超簡単に沖に出れた。

 

僕が捉えた波は、セットウェーブだった。かなり沖の方で

ブレークし、僕は運良くその波をキャッチ。

完全にインサイドまで乗れ、

３０秒ぐらいのライドでした。

 

まさに、あれが僕のパーフェクト・ライド！

この EPは2012年にリリースされたけど、未だに僕の

サーフィン後に聴くお気に入りの１枚。

とてもクールで、ある意味７０年代の

サーフ・ノスタルジック・サウンドっぽいよね。

 

僕が一番好きなトラックは、「After Dark」。
